About Gina
Gina Arresta has built a career centered on financial management, public service, and community leadership. As the former Deputy Mayor and Trustee of Southampton Village, Gina has earned a reputation as a pragmatic problem solver focused on getting things done. She has served as liaison to the Budget and Finance Committee and the Department of Public Works, helping guide key infrastructure, financial, and sustainability initiatives throughout the Village.
As the comptroller of a large, locally owned plumbing company, Gina has extensive experience overseeing financial operations, budgeting, and organizational management. She also serves as Director of Liturgy at her church and has volunteered with numerous local organizations, including the Southampton Schools Budget Committee.
Having raised two sons in Southampton, Gina’s connection to the Village is deeply personal. She is committed to returning to the board to deliver results with professionalism, collaboration, and a focus on what matters most to Southampton residents.
Village of Southampton Leadership & Accomplishments
Gina Arresta is a seasoned public official and decades-long resident of Southampton Village, which makes her an invaluable perspective on the Village board. She is running because she believes our Village government can better address the issues that matter most to our community: infrastructure, roads, traffic, taxes, public safety, and the maintenance of quality parks and public spaces.
Gina’s previous terms offer proof that she can deliver results for our community on these issues. During her service as Trustee, Gina,
Helped initiate zero-based budgeting practices and helped maintain the Village’s strong financial standing, including its AAA bond rating. She believes fiscal responsibility and thoughtful planning are essential to protecting taxpayer resources while maintaining the high quality of life residents expect.
Assembled a task force that successfully advanced legislation eliminating the use of gas-powered leaf blowers. This initiative has since inspired similar action in other Long Island communities.
Helped restore and modernize important community assets, including Village Hall, the Southampton Arts Center, and Veterans Hall. Working closely with Johnson Controls, Gina has focused on bringing Village buildings into the 21st century through infrastructure improvements and energy modernization efforts. A strong advocate for green initiatives, Gina understands the importance of preparing Southampton for the future, particularly as New York State moves toward a mandate requiring municipalities to achieve 70 percent green energy by 2030.
Fostered a culture of respect and collaboration between Village employees and public officials. She believes effective government requires professionalism, open dialogue, and an inclusive environment where people can share ideas and work together productively. Gina believes that many concerns about transparency stem not from a lack of openness, but from a need for greater public understanding and communication.
